verbist-pic-200Tobias Verbist is Chief Architect at Digipolis, the IT Department of the City of Antwerp.

He heads an enthusiastic squad of Enterprise Architects and together with the City of Antwerp, they tackle interesting current and future challenges Antwerp is facing.

Their main goal is to design and implement future proof software applications using microservices and API's embedded in a state of the art architecture, named Antwerp City Platform as a Service (ACPaaS).

The EA Squad also runs several innovation labs, such as an Internet Of Things-lab, a Data Science-lab and a Blockchain-lab.

Prior to joining Digipolis, he worked as an Enterprise Architect at BNP Paribas Fortis, where he designed reusable banking components for several financial institutions in Europe.

Tobias graduated in 2002 from the Ghent University, Belgium and holds a M.Sc. degree in Applied Computer Science
